Who We Are

About Us

The Danville Neighborhood Development Corporation (DNDC) was established in 2016 in Danville, Virginia. We are a nonprofit community development corporation with a vision that all residents live in thriving communities.

DNDC looks to improve its visibility and impact in the community as the area continues to grow and transform. At present, housing shortages are a concern for the city, and the organization desires to improve its visibility as a key partner in transforming middle neighborhoods.

Our Vision

All residents live in the city of Danville in thriving communities.

Our Mission

To work alongside residents to reimagine, revitalize, build, and support thriving and sustainable neighborhoods in the city of Danville through housing investment and community development.

Our Focus

To create diverse and sustainable communities with a variety of housing types and amenities that give residents the opportunity to live a quality life and to have a voice in creating their future.

Our Approach

DNDC’s approach is to eliminate blighted properties and strategically rehabilitate single-family homes for future homeownership.   We do this work in tandem with intensive community empowerment and education.

Over the next several years, the Danville Neighborhood development corporation is implementing a comprehensive targeted revitalization effort in the neighborhood along the Kemper Rd corridor.

Revitalizing
Communities

Acquire vacant properties as minor/moderate rehabilitation projects to put the inventory back for future homeownership.

Preserving
Property

Assist current homeowner-occupants and rental property owners with correcting deferred maintenance that they have been unable to address and making capital upgrades.

Engaging
Community

Engage property owners as co-advocates for home improvement through educational workshops, and as partners in planning neighborhood place-making and improvement projects, such as traffic-calming and signage and other beautification projects.

Neighborhood
Investing

Target street blocks where more visible, impactful changes are likely to occur;
