The DNDC secures home improvement contractors and volunteers (both skilled and supervised unskilled) to complete repairs. The program began in November 2018 in the Westmoreland neighborhood with help from the Westmoreland Neighborhood Organization. Since 2018, our primary source of volunteers has been Union Church (810 Main Street, Danville). The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region has funded the program since 2019.
In addition, to stabilize the surrounding community, problem properties in the neighborhood will be cleared of trash and overgrown brush on Home Repair Blitz Days. Blitz Days occur in targeted neighborhoods up to four times a year (usually Spring and Fall) on a Saturday. Blitz Days are planned in partnership with the resident associations (such as a Neighborhood Watch group) in targeted communities to identify up to 10 eligible homeowners for repairs on that one day. If you would like your neighborhood considered for a Blitz Day, call us at 434-799-5099.
We are seeking state-licensed home improvement contractors committed to performing the work for Danville Home Repair Blitz. If your business is interested, please download the application below and submit it to danvilleNDC@gmail.com.
